A door was made in search of everlasting peace
But all they found was a world full of Cockatrice
Try as they might, couldn't make a door to heaven
Wizards of the order, now two once eleven
They went on a journey after creating the torch
Blind by their creation, they knew some things were worse
They knew the creatures power stemmed from sight
What could a monster hunt if it were blind?
Now Aarik and Lance hang with neanderthals
Teaching them things like cooking and building walls
They knew not yet the queen of the cockatrice.
Constance of Gemlor, was now a solitary beast
Spurred by the death of nearly of mankind
Aarik continued searching for the afterlife
He found magic he thought would link him to God
A link to Constance was not what he sought
Then Aarik wanted to bring the world to an end
If Constance were freed, perhaps this would happen
